I am loving the new look for pearls this fall. They have gone from prim and sophisticated (maybe even a little stuffy at times) to cool, hip and fun. You may never look at white pearls the same. Enjoy the weekend!

Here’s a new trend that seems to be picking up in popularity, the non-matching bridesmaids. There are two ways to go about this, you can opt for different colors- same style, or same colors- different styles. I for one think it looks great in photos, plus it can be an economical solution for your friends, and they can find a dress they may actually like. I’d love to hear what you think, love it or hate it?

Marcia Lucia Hohan may sounds like a mouthful when you say it, but it is totally worth discovering her as her designs have completely captivated me. A little rocker, a little sparkle and a lot girly there most definitely something to fit every whim.

I am in love with this great looking recipe box by Rifle Paper Co. I mean most of the mundane cooking gifts get taken care of, but great now you have all these kitchen gadgets, and no idea what to make (ok that’s talking from personal experience)! Still how fun would it be to get a box full of favorite recipes from family and friends?

My other favorite shower idea is for the wine connoisseurs out there, and a great idea for a bridesmaids gift to the bride. Pick out a bottle of wine for each major holiday the couple shares, so New Year’s, Valentine’s Day, Anniversary, Cinco de Mayo (maybe sub tequila here), or whatever it may be. Then dress up each bottle to fit the occasion. You can make it as easy as sticking on some ribbons and writing on the bottles yourself, or make your own custom labels here. Then the bride and groom to be will able to share a nice bottle of wine to celebrate their first year of holidays as husband and wife. Bottoms up!
Well this hasn’t happened yet, 2 posts in one day! I realized late yesterday afternoon that in my excitement for Mad Men starting Sunday, I left out the tie in to weddings. Did I mention our kitchen renovation is still going on? No excuses I know, but the fashion on the show alone speaks for itself. Regardless, consider this a part 2, Mad Men era vintage wedding dresses. Enjoy!
I always liked the idea of pale pink and grey, it’s definitely not a color scheme you see that often but it’s elegant, shabby chic, and just plain pretty. Don’t you think?

It’s that time again…The new season of Mad Men premiers this Sunday (on AMC at 10pm)! Personally I love feeling lost in a time warp while watching the show, and season 4 starts off in 1964, so get ready for some fashion updates and the start of the Mod era. While season 4 pictures are scarce, I did find this great video of Mad Men wardrobe designer Janie Bryant giving a little sneak peak into this season’s fashion choices. Janie (I feel like we are close friends now) also happens to be debuting her own line of 50’s and 60’s inspired clothes and accessories this September which will be sold on QVC.
The countdown officially begins.
