{Friday Faves} The Etsy Taste Test

Friday, December 24th, 2010 by admin

I don’t know about you, but I find Etsy can be wholly overwhelming. Love the site, but sometimes I just want to look at things that appeal to me without having to scroll through page after page. Well, maybe the lovely people at Etsy were feeling the same way because they recently launched their “taste test.” It’s a quick quiz like process (it’s all pictures) that creates pages of products based on the things you like. The first question looks like this, but if you don’t see anything that appeals to you, you can refresh the options and try again. It’s a lovely thing, and a great way to start dropping those Valentine Day hints. Yea I said it, Christmas is almost so done for the year. Enjoy the holiday!

Totally Clutch

Wednesday, October 27th, 2010 by admin

I know this lovely Oscar de la Renta clutch is more expensive then some wedding dresses, but I had to share. It is kind of like a two for one, wedding day clutch and something blue (see the lining!?). Okay, that might be a stretch…

{Friday Faves} Hair Calf Accessories

Friday, September 17th, 2010 by admin

Ok, I am officially obsessed. Hair-calf everything is popping up all over and it’s really pretty. One of my favorite handbag designers Kotur (she is good friends with Tory Burch if you were interested), created this amazing black and silver tote that looks like a $3500 bag, but is only $875. I say only, I am jaded by what I do, but relatively speaking it’s not bad… I never win any arguments with my relatively plea. Also at Saks, new designer  Reed Karakoff has created some timeless “ladylike” handbags which are so chic. The Elie Tahari boutique has this to die for pump which is even prettier on. And lastly, these classic shaped clutches at Jeffrey by YSL and Givenchy are a great way to give this seasons monochromatic looks a little punch of interest.

Top 10 Summer Essentials

Thursday, May 27th, 2010 by admin

Summer is officially in full swing, and so I put together a list of the top ten pieces to get you through the crazy, and sometimes lazy, days of summer.

Destination wedding dress, Destination wedding fashion

1. A great work dress that can take you from the office straight to a night out, or drinks on a patio.

2. A pop of color. Easiest done with accessories like this DKNY watch (it’s $50!), plus it gives a whole lot of personality to summer’s neutrals.

3. A neutral shoe is one of this season’s newest trends (if you ask me). Hello, it totally goes with everything. Just make sure your neutral shoe pick works with your skin tone.

4. Anything white, especially a great pair of white jeans, you can’t go wrong. If white jeans make you feel like a certain deli meat (sausage anyone?), opt for a wide leg pair, white dress, top, skirt, bag, scarf- whatever your fancy, it’s out there.

5. Straw bag. This Calypso one definitely fits the bill.

6. Make a statement with Lucite jewelry. How fun is the Alexis Bittar ring? It’s a great take on this trend and super unique. Love it.

7. An oversized hat to protect the skin you’re in. I love the sun as much as the next person, but at least protect your face! Tinted moisturizer anyone?

8. Summer scarves (solid and prints) are a great way to accessorize and stay warm in over air conditioned places.

9. A bathing suit you LOVE on, bikini, tankini, or one-piece.

10. An all purpose beach cover-up that can take you from the surf to a casual cafe.

{Friday Faves} Summer Strawf

Thursday, May 20th, 2010 by admin

What’s better than a straw bag for summer? They go with just about everything, come in all shapes, sizes and colors, and happen to be readily available. My faves for today started as a search to find straw bags that made my heart skip a beat. What I found were tons of them,  some of which looked quite similar, so I decided it was a perfect opportunity to share my faves and highlight a couple steals.

Lanvin Does Bridal, With A Little Help from Some Fashion Friends

Thursday, May 20th, 2010 by admin

Net-a-porter.com always has a lovely collection of goodies. My husband would definitely dis-own me if I gave into every craving, but that doesn’t mean I can’t share! Here is Lanvin’s take on bridal by way of ready-to-wear. They pretty much cover all the bases, but add an Alexander McQueen heart shape peep-toe pump, and Louis Mariette headband, and voila it’s a girly girl’s dream come true.

So Clutch

Tuesday, May 11th, 2010 by admin

I have always had a fondness for the girly whimsical designs by Marchesa, and now, her line of clutches has landed. They are a little vintage, a little bohemian, and all around “easy cool” which makes them great with jeans and a great top for a night out, or with a floor length ball gown(most of them at least). I am totally digging the raw cut rock crystal clasp that seems to be her signature.

And now, a little eye candy.
