{Friday Faves} Tutus & Tulle

Friday, December 3rd, 2010 by admin

I’ve got my baby girl on the brain. This is a good thing considering we are 9 weeks from d-day and have not ordered any nursery furniture. I was looking around my favorite kiddie sites and came across these adorable tutus, perfect for dressing up (or little flower girls). I can see it now, any given day, or Halloween 2011 perhaps. At least that is one thing we can plan in advance…

{Friday Faves} Halloween-ish

Friday, October 29th, 2010 by admin

I’ll be the first to admit, I am not a huge fan of dressing up in costumes. Although next year I may feel differently as I will potentially have a mini me to deck out in some ridiculous/ ridiculously cute Halloween ensemble. Today’s faves are pumpkin inspired.

{Friday Faves} Hair Calf Accessories

Friday, September 17th, 2010 by admin

Ok, I am officially obsessed. Hair-calf everything is popping up all over and it’s really pretty. One of my favorite handbag designers Kotur (she is good friends with Tory Burch if you were interested), created this amazing black and silver tote that looks like a $3500 bag, but is only $875. I say only, I am jaded by what I do, but relatively speaking it’s not bad… I never win any arguments with my relatively plea. Also at Saks, new designer  Reed Karakoff has created some timeless “ladylike” handbags which are so chic. The Elie Tahari boutique has this to die for pump which is even prettier on. And lastly, these classic shaped clutches at Jeffrey by YSL and Givenchy are a great way to give this seasons monochromatic looks a little punch of interest.

{Friday Faves} Wedding Photos

Friday, August 20th, 2010 by admin

Here’s to another Friday. They seem to roll around faster and faster these days, don’t they? My faves are some amazing wedding shots I saw on the blogosphere this week from Style Me Pretty, Brides.com, Green Wedding Shoes, and Perfect Bound. By the way the center top photo is actually model Coco Rocha in her custom designed Zac Posen wedding dress. Ah, the life of a supermodel.  Enjoy!

{Friday Faves} Eat Pray Love

Friday, August 13th, 2010 by admin

My favorite thing for today is that I am going to see Eat Pray Love this afternoon with some girlfriends. Ok, I admit, I may have a little crush on Julia Roberts, I mean we are from the same state (GA!) which pratically makes us fake cousins. Plus, I know the scenery in this movie is going to be oh so trip inspiring. I too spent a bit of time in Rome, Italy, yet somehow missed traveling to India and Bali afterward to work off the pasta and pizza. Maybe next time. I found this inspiration board at Wedding Nouveau and I think it is perfectly done. I love the color scheme, and I love it as the start to another much needed weekend!

{Friday Faves} Unique Shower Gifts

Friday, July 23rd, 2010 by admin

I am in love with this great looking recipe box by Rifle Paper Co. I mean most of the mundane cooking gifts get taken care of, but great now you have all these kitchen gadgets, and no idea what to make (ok that’s talking from personal experience)! Still how fun would it be to get a box full of favorite recipes from family and friends?

My other favorite shower idea is for the wine connoisseurs out there, and a great idea for a bridesmaids gift to the bride. Pick out a bottle of wine for each major holiday the couple shares, so New Year’s, Valentine’s Day, Anniversary, Cinco de Mayo (maybe sub tequila here), or whatever it may be. Then dress up each bottle to fit the occasion. You can make it as easy as sticking on some ribbons and writing on the bottles yourself, or make your own custom labels here. Then the bride and groom to be will able to share a nice bottle of wine to celebrate their first year of holidays as husband and wife. Bottoms up!

{Friday Faves} In the Black

Friday, July 9th, 2010 by admin

The trends for fall are officially in, and in store. While I appreciate a great sweater and a pair of boots, the only fall pieces I can stomach thinking about (it is going to be 98 today) are accessories. Black never goes out of style even though every year there seems to be a new spin on it. This fall black is making a name for itself in jewelry.

Friday Faves

Friday, April 2nd, 2010 by admin

Fridays are the best. Summer Fridays, even better! So what better way to celebrate T.G.I.F than with a round-up of my fave finds from around the web.

FridayFaves

How fun is this dress!? Currently my financial backing can not afford it but if I was getting married, or going to a wedding in say St.Barts, Ibiza, or maybe the South of France, I just might figure out a way to call it mine.

I am totally lov-ing these Tory Burch wedges that come in a rainbow of hues. I bought a pair in pewter and wore them today for the first time(hello 85degrees & sunny).  Currently my wedges and my feet are in a fight. They were adorable on but really need some breaking in. Next time, I will be armed with Bandaids. You know they say about a little pain for fashion right? No pain, no gain!

My final favorite find of the week is this dress by Patagonia (totally unexpected, right?!). The great thing is you know that what it’s made out of (cotton/tencel) will keep you looking and feeling fresh during the summer heat. Plus tencel keeps the fabric from wrinkling which makes it the perfect roll it up in a ball and pack it dress.

P.S. I Would recommend hemming it to one length all the way around either just above, or just below, the knee for a more modern look. Comes in turquoise, red, black and two floral patterns, which are not my favorite.
